His parents got him out on a pair of skis when he was just two years old, and he's lived for the sport ever since. For Sam Cohen, being a professional skier and mountaineer isn’t just about skiing steep lines and deep snow; it’s also about earning your turns through some good ‘ole fashioned Type 2 fun.
“Being out in the mountains and suffering a bit is something I enjoy,” he said.
We talked to Sammo about his must-have Ridge layers to get him though the gnarliest of days (and nights) spent out in the mountains.
"Layering is always so important and becomes more important on those bigger days and larger scale missions in the mountains," he said. "For me, I rely on these layers that I have tested personally in all elements."
